Paracosm is an original character game based on the Persona series of video games, set in a future where virtual reality has become a household product.

Characters are high school students at the historic Matsubayashi High School in Suginami-ku, a ward in Tokyo. They are students from all walks of life, united at a school once known for creating a generation of great minds. They are not ordinary students for long, before their eyes are opened up by following a blue butterfly, and awaken to their Persona, a manifestation of a person's personality that allows them to fight Shadows.

The city is blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, with many people unsure of how to negotiate these new times. There are rumors of a secret app that allows people special abilities, magical, impossible abilities that is only available at midnight. There are rumors of strange deaths and accidents that the government is doing it’s best to cover up. There is a world of mystery for the players to solve, as well as dealing with their own problems at home and in school.

This game will run on Dreamwidth, with a strong emphasis on AIM chats for ooc communication, as well as special combat focused dungeons and events.
